A Day of Romance and Rock
at The Knitter's Studio

We always enjoy offering something a little different at The Knitter’s Studio
and we certainly have a twist for you this June!

Join us on Sunday, June 24
from 12:00 to 4:00 pm

for a spirited afternoon with two wonderful designers,
each demonstrating their own very unique styles.

Joan McGowan-Michael whose beautiful knitted lingerie has often graced
our window display and who has taught at The Knitter’s Studio before
and Share Ross with her rock-star sensibility will both be joining us here
for what promises to be a pretty-n-punk afternoon!

Joan will be bringing garments from her beautiful new book, Knitting Lingerie Style, which contains 30 plus designs including bras, slips, camisoles, stockings and even (gasp!) outerwear from the practical to just plain sexy and sized to fit from petite to plus sizes! She’ll also give a demo on the construction of her amazing underwire knitted bra as well as a brief discussion on the history of lingerie.

White Lies Designs kits will be available for purchase and she will be available for signing copies of her new book. Joan will also be offering a "Toe-Up Stocking" class on this day that will get any knitter who has experience on DPN’s working
on her sexy, toe-ups in no time at all!

Share will be bringing a trunk show of her rockin' collection from her new book,
Punk Knits
that will get you thinking big hair and heavy eyeliner before the day is out! She'll  teach us "Three Ways to Make Holes", a very basic mini-workshop  which goes over the techniques for creating holes including 'Controlled Drop Stitch', 'Button Holes' and 'Yarn-Overs'. Share discusses the intentional use of holes and dropped stitches in design and will give a technique class on creative ways of dealing with knitting accidents. Skills necessary: cast on, knit, purl and yarn over.

She will be signing copies of her new book Punk Knits, which contains wonderful patterns for beginners and beyond, including arm and leg warmers, scarves, miniskirts, hats and sweaters which all draw their inspiration from the independent spirits of rock and roll legends. And certainly no rock-n-roll knitter can be without Share's Skull Knitting Needles which will be available for purchase as well.
